The largest lodging base on the coast: oceanfront hotels and motels, condo resorts, and the biggest short-term vacation rental market in the region. The default choice for a family beach trip with the most restaurant and activity options nearby.
Motels, oceanfront resorts, vacation rentals, and RV/camping options, generally geared toward anglers, surfers, and storm watchers rather than resort-style amenities. Grayland Beach State Park offers quieter camping just south of town.
Standard highway motels plus a growing vacation-rental and B&B market. The practical base for anyone doing Hoh Rainforest, La Push, or Rialto Beach as day trips, with more grocery and gas options than anywhere closer to the park.
Kalaloch Lodge sits right on the bluff above the beach, with main-lodge rooms and cabins under National Park Service concession. Lake Quinault Lodge, built in 1926, sits on the lake amid old-growth rainforest. Rain Forest Resort Village, nearby on Lake Quinault, is a separate, non-NPS option. These book up well ahead of peak season.
National Park Service campgrounds sit at Kalaloch, South Beach, and Mora (near La Push and Rialto Beach); the Hoh Campground's availability depends on current road status. Private RV parks are common in Ocean Shores, Westport, and along US-101. Overnight backcountry and beach camping (Second Beach, Third Beach, the Ozette coast, Shi Shi Beach) requires a wilderness permit booked through recreation.gov, and popular zones can sell out in summer, so book early.
